About you

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Utility Locator to join our growing team in Melbourne. As a key member, you will have the opportunity to work on an expanding portfolio of exciting projects.  The role is full-time from Monday to Friday, with the occasional weekend, nightshift and regional work required.

Some of the Key Responsibilities for this role will be:
  • – Undertake utility location activities, with locating equipment including using standard pipe and cable locating equipment and ground penetrating radar (GPR)
  • – Interpret ground penetrating radar data
  • – Supporting utility survey teams and project teams as required to ensure project outcomes are met

To be successful in this role you will have:
  • – Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • – Previous experience undertaking Utility Surveys using GPR (ground penetrating radar) systems, EMF (electromagnetic frequency) detectors and survey equipment
  • – Valid driver’s licence
  • – Construction Induction Card
  • – Ability to work unsupervised and demonstrate initiative

Additional points if you also have the following qualifications and industry certificates:
  • – Dial Before You Dig (DBYD) Certified Locator
  • – Confined Space Entry Certified Training
  • – Gas Test Atmospheres Certified Training
  • – Rail Industry Worker Accreditation
  • – Traffic Management Certified Training
  • – Industry qualifications in utility locating: NULCA Accredited Certification

The role is physically demanding and involves manual handling, including operation of equipment and opening pits. For this reason, you may be required to complete a pre-employment medical.
