The Opportunity

Are you ready to embark on an exhilarating and rewarding journey as a HSEQ Advisor within the subsurface industry? Reporting to our Chief Operations Officer, you’ll be at the forefront of our mission, providing expert guidance to ensure that every aspect of our operations aligns seamlessly with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.

Your role will be pivotal in safeguarding the well-being of our dedicated workforce, actively working to reduce hazards in the workplace and igniting the flames of safety consciousness to lead the charge in championing transformative safety initiatives nationally across all our Utility Mapping Teams.

This is a national role and candidates from across Australia are encouraged to apply. The role is part-time working 3 days per week (Monday to Friday). Enjoy the flexibility and support you need while providing oversight to our national teams. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a safety-first culture, maintaining an active presence across projects and in the field
  • Provide advice on HSEQ compliance and risk management to stakeholders at various levels
  • Build organisational understanding and capability across HSEQ requirements and processes
  • Contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of Utility Mapping’s Safety Management System
  • Identify initiatives that enhance operational quality and to attain quality accreditations
  • Develop training and induction material related to work health and safety matters
  • Conduct workplace inspections and audits, identifying hazards and preventative strategies
  • Coordinate and conduct incident reporting, investigations, and reporting
  • Develop HSEQ material for prestart, toolbox talks and HSEQ related meetings
  • Facilitate risk assessment workshops and processes
  • Coordinate and conduct contractor management processes
  • Contribute to monitoring, reporting, and reviewing HSEQ performance outcomes
  • Provide HSEQ support to tender and pre-qualification processes
  • Provide advice and support across injury and incident management processes

 Must Have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety
  • Extensive experience in a similar role
  • Extensive knowledge of HSEQ legislation, regulations, standards, and codes of practice
  • Demonstrated ability to sustain positive HSEQ outcomes
  • Strong project management and delivery skillset
  • Valid Australian C Class Drivers Licence

Good to have:

  • Internal Management System Audit qualification (QMS)
  • ICAM/TapRoot or equivalent investigation qualification
  • Experience working with ISO certified systems (ISO 45001 / ISO 9001)
  • Experience working within the construction industry
